Community Outreach Coordinator

Part- Time Job Description




Basic Function


The Community Outreach Coordinator position is a part-time position responsible for the creation and implementation of multimedia communications and public relations to aid in raising community awareness of CCCAC and to help with fundraising initiatives. The Community Outreach Coordinator is also responsible for helping develop, organize and conduct child abuse prevention programs throughout Coffee County.


Examples of Responsibilities:


-Prevention Programs: Coordinate, promote, schedule and conduct online and in-person education and prevention programs for adults and youth. Duties include maintaining a database of contacts and program attendees; developing, administering and maintaining program content and training materials. Deliver training/awareness programs on child sexual abuse using Darkness to Light, Stewards of Children/Prevent Now and Signs and Symptoms initiatives/programs as well as Child Safety Matters. Engage with other organizations supporting child abuse prevention programs for coordination and cooperation

-Social Media: Maintain active and consistent CCCAC presence on social media to expand audience and increase community awareness

-Develop and administer communications and public relations strategies that promote CCCAC services and programs

-Develop, maintain and administer CCCAC marketing collateral; assist with website content management

- Create and facilitate marketing campaigns and events such as Child Abuse Prevention Month, The Big PayBack, and year-end giving

- Coordinate and promote public engagement and prevention outreach through active participation in community events including festivals, fairs, community meetings, presentations, media opportunities and school-related activities

- Assist with fund development and community engagement

- Assist with creating Prevention/Awareness grant opportunities and funding; including management of CBCAP funding

- Complete ongoing training as required by CCCAC, funding agencies

- Compose and send donor communications and agency correspondence in a timely manner

- Preparation of documents for board, staff or other agency meetings/presentations

- Enter and maintain donor information and donor database

- Provide support for agency sponsored events during the planning and implementation phase of the event

- Other tasks needed or deemed necessary by the Executive Director


Qualifications:

o Degree from an accredited college or university with at least a bachelor’s degree is required. Transcripts will be required.

o Strong communication skills- written and verbal

o Communications, public relations, research and social media experience. Prior marketing and outreach experience preferred.

o Excellence in building and maintaining positive relationships with community partners, volunteers and team members.

o Experience working with volunteers, events and media

o Willingness and ability to conduct public training events in the community and for children in schools.

o Strong computer skills and ability to utilize relevant software

o Attention to detail and accuracy

o Flexibility

o Independent worker with high initiative, achievement-oriented

o Ability to manage multiple projects

o Must be willing to travel locally for training sessions. Travel expenses will be covered by the agency. Occasional out of town travel will be required for meetings and trainings.

o Candidate will be required to complete a minimum number of training hours each year.

o Must have no criminal history as determined through a criminal records background check and other background checks as required. CCCAC conducts thorough background checks before employment begins and annually thereafter.


Hours: CCCAC is open Monday-Friday, 8 AM-4:30 PM. This is a part-time position with up to 25 hours per week. Additional hours may be approved as needed.


All job duties and responsibilities are expected to be carried out in support of the direction, initiatives, and mission of Coffee County Children’s Advocacy Center. This position reports directly to the Executive Director.
