Stacy Morales Garcia shares information about the importance of preventing child abuse

Updated: May 10, 2023

"My name is Stacy Morales Garcia. My top priority in my life is the safety of my children, and I’m sure that’s one of the most important things for you, as well. That’s why I’d like to talk to you about the importance of being aware and watching for signs of child abuse. Child abuse is a major issue. Last year in our county, Coffee County Children’s Advocacy Center served nearly 350 children victims of severe abuse. Children suffer physical and/or sexual abuse. In fact, statistics show that 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 7 boys will be sexually abused by age 18. If you suspect abuse, you must report. When we report, we help end child abuse and help children begin their healing process. The Coffee County Children’s Advocacy Center provides services for children who are victims of severe child abuse. If you do not speak English, the Coffee County Children’s Advocacy Center will provide you with a translator, and there’s information in Spanish on the center’s website, www.coffeecountycac.org. All services provided by the Coffee County Children's Advocacy Center are free. To report suspicions of child abuse, please call 1-877-237-0004. You can report in Spanish and anonymously."

The Coffee County Children's Advocacy Center is thankful for Stacy's help! Stacy has supported the center's activities through raising awareness and translating.
